Reusable pads are cloth pads you wash and wear again, and each one of ours lasts 5+ years. Soft bamboo terry sits against your skin. The back is waterproof, and wing snaps hold the pad where you put it. Liners cover light days, the Maxi Pad takes moderate to heavy flow, and the Super Pad is made for your heaviest days and nights. Which reusable pad do I need?
| Product | Length | Holds about | Absorbent side | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Liner | 7 in | 2 tampons’ or disposable liners’ worth | Light | Light days, spotting, backup with a cup |
| Extended Liner | 8.7 in | 2 tampons’ or disposable liners’ worth | Dark (charcoal bamboo) | Light days when you want a little more length and no visible stains |
| Maxi Pad | 10 in | 3 tampons’ or disposable pads’ worth | Light | Moderate to heavy days |
| Super Pad | 12 in | 4 tampons’ or disposable pads’ worth | Dark | Heaviest days, overnight, light to moderate bladder leaks |
You’ll probably want a mix: liners for the first and last days, something bigger for the heavy stretch in the middle. Can’t decide? The Liners + Maxi Pads Set has five of each, so you can see which one you keep reaching for.
Will they slip or leak?
It’s the most common complaint about cloth pads, and it’s a fair one. A pad with nothing holding it wanders, usually toward the back. Ours have wing snaps. The wings fold around the gusset of your underwear and snap together underneath, which keeps the pad in place.
Fit does the rest. Wear underwear that sits close and has a fuller back; a thong or Brazilian cut gives a pad nothing to hold on to. Then match the length to your flow. On a heavy day a liner runs out of room long before a Super Pad does.
Dark or light absorbent side?
This one comes down to which product you pick. The Super Pad and Extended Liner are dark on the absorbent side, so stains don’t show. The Maxi Pad and standard liners are light, which is handy if you like to keep an eye on your flow. Color has nothing to do with how much a pad holds.
What washing actually looks like
- Rinse under cold water for about 30 seconds after use. Cold keeps stains from setting.
- Leave it in a wet bag or bowl until laundry day.
- Wash it with your normal laundry and your normal detergent.
- Air dry, or tumble dry on low.
Skip bleach, because it weakens the fabric. Skip fabric softener too: it coats the fibers and cuts absorbency. The full routine is on our wash and care page.
Out and about
Pop the used pad in a carry bag until you’re home, then wash it with the rest. Most of our sets include one.
How many do I need?
Start with how many pads you get through on a heavy day. Then think about laundry. If you wash every two days, you want two days’ worth plus a spare or two. A set is the simple way to get there, and if you add a second, the price drops automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do reusable pads slide around?
Ones without snaps often do. Sliding is the complaint we saw most across Reddit, Mumsnet and other brands’ reviews. Our wing snaps close under the gusset of your underwear, and that keeps the pad in place. Close-fitting underwear with a fuller back helps, and so does a pad long enough for your flow.
Isn’t washing them gross?
Nearly everyone wonders before they try. The routine is about 45 seconds: a cold rinse, then into a wet bag until laundry day, then in with your normal wash. No soaking. No scrubbing. The full routine is on our wash and care page.
Do they smell?
Not while you’re wearing one, because bamboo terry breathes. A cold rinse straight after use stops smells building up before wash day. If a pad ever smells off after washing, a splash of white vinegar in the next wash sorts it out. More in how to get smell out of reusable pads.
Do they stain?
Rinse in cold water straight away and most stains never set. A faint mark that stays won’t change how the pad works. If you’d rather not see marks at all, the Super Pad and Extended Liner both have a dark absorbent side.
Are they enough for a heavy flow?
The Super Pad holds about 4 tampons’ or disposable pads’ worth and is 12 inches long, made for heavy days and nights. On your very heaviest days you might change more often than you’re used to, or wear one as backup with a cup. See our heavy flow pads.
What are they made of?
Bamboo terry is the side against your skin. Inside the pads is a polyester absorbent core, and every pad and liner has a waterproof PUL backing and poly-resin snaps. No added fragrance, no bleach. We haven’t had them PFAS-tested, so we don’t claim PFAS-free.
How long do they last?
5+ years each, with normal washing. Leaving out bleach and fabric softener helps them get there.
What if they don’t work for me?
Then you get your money back. You have 60 days, and you can wear and wash them in that time. The details are in our refund policy.
